Ourania’s work “Mutated Pets_The Genetic Evolution Has Begun...” is about an evolution in biogenetics through the arts and science fiction with a creation of a totally new species of life . Her complex biomorphic landscape in sculpture and in animation depict biomasses and alien creatures with a strong reference to teratogenicity and mutation that is expressed through a combination of “pop” and “baroque” touches.

Ourania Mourta lives and works in London. She is a post-graduate student at University of the Arts of London and a graduate of the Athens Academy of Fine Art, gaining a distinction. She studied painting and sculpture at the Department of Visual Arts from 2002 to 2008. She received scholarship awards for excellent performance from the Hellenic Scholarships Foundation (I.K.Y) every year from 2003-2008.
